lyrics
He was a lucky, lucky son of a gun.
He was a lucky, lucky son of a gun.
He was a lucky. lucky son of a gun.
Watch him run, watch him run.
In the dead of night, he came speeding into town.
He was invisible to every copper hanging around.
Burning 85, turning a three-sided coin in the knuckle of his left hand.
He wasn't looking for blood, wasn't looking for trouble,
just a 5-card stud and a pot to double that twenty grand.
He wasn't good, but he wasn't that bad,
Had nothing to do with that.
He was a lucky, lucky son of a gun.
He was a lucky, lucky son of a gun.
He was a lucky. lucky son of a gun.
Watch him run, watch him run.
In no time flat, he had cleaned those mothers out.
Took his money and walked before heads got hot and it went south.
But he stopped in his tracks when he got back to his midnight black ol’ cadillac coupe deville.
Right before his eyes did materialize a man with deck of cards and a plan from hell.
He said you got that fortune that I need
So we're gonna play for keeps.
You're a lucky, lucky son of a gun.
You're a lucky, lucky son of a gun.
You're a lucky, lucky son of a gun.
And ya’ better not run.
(x2)
Smoke circled around as the demon dealt the cards.
The chips piled up, boy kept his cool and never dropped his guard.
Demon grinned, sure of his win as he showed his hand and let 4 bullets ring.
But the demon wasn't ready for the reckoning of a straight flush with a suicide king.
He said alright fortune child, I guess you win
Until we meet again.
You're a lucky, lucky son of a gun.
You're a lucky, lucky son of a gun.
You're a lucky, lucky son of a gun.
Watch you run, watch you run.
He was a lucky, lucky son of a gun.
He was a lucky, lucky son of a gun.
He was a lucky. lucky son of a gun.
Watch him run, watch him run.

Wonderful album. I love the departure from your usual sound. I'm fully in love with the first half of the album and kinda wish the second half was a bit louder/faster. And I must say, only Sooj could somehow get me to like an EDM/dub step song. boingoloid

I walked away from playing music ten years ago, disgusted with music and myself. SJ Tucker's songs have played no small part in bringing me back in a truly strange yet beautiful way. The blisters on my fingers and the gloom in my heart are nearly healed. I sat down my new acoustic guitar to write a comment about some heavy medicine and now I'm going to get back to my therapy. I can't thank you enough SJ! Keep up the good work! roddylloyd
